In 2010, HSCPH made a strategic decision to have our fleece material, which is still produced in Italy, OEKO-TEX® certified in class 1. This was one of our initial steps in the fight against chemicals not only in textiles but also in our environment. Today, we produce our designs in a specially crafted fleece quality with 30% viscose, viscose jersey, and organic cotton.

A STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification is the consumer's guarantee that there are no harmful substances in the purchased item from a certified supplier. Certification can be applied for in four different classes, where class 1 is the purest and approved for baby clothing and baby toys.

There is a jungle of certifications, broadly categorized into groups. The EU Flower, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, GOTS, and OEKO-TEX® are among the few certifications controlled by an independent third party. OEKO-TEX® collaborates with 16 independent and authorized testing institutes worldwide that annually check and test for harmful substances in the fully and semi-finished products that are OEKO-TEX® certified. HSCPH is a Danish company and is therefore audited by the Danish Technological Institute.

HSCPH has its own certification under STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® in class 1. To achieve this, all our subcontractors in our production must also be certified in class 1. It is not only our textile materials that are certified; everything from sewing thread, labels, logo rings, ribbons, and buttons to care labels and jewelry is certified. It is our responsibility to obtain certifications from our subcontractors, and once a year, the Danish Technological Institute visits us to take samples of our products and perform technical control tests for harmful substances. All our designs and collections are covered by our certification under STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® cert. no. 2176-347 DTI.

This process is repeated at all our subcontractors, but at the same time, control tests are also conducted on the samples on the shelves in the over 850 stores worldwide that carry our designs. It is this detailed and demanding process that gives you a guarantee. You can read more via this link, where you can also enter certification numbers for your own verification.

Another quite significant group of "certifications" is a jungle. In this group, one finds "certifications" that the individual brand has created and produced a hangtag for, which they attach to the clothing. The intention and purpose may be good for some, while for others, it is Greenwashing. Regardless, there is no guarantee, and no entity controls, approves, or guarantees. For your safety and that of your family, you can ensure avoiding dangerous chemicals by choosing certified and tested certifications.
